Our beautiful power catamaran, BEACH BUM I, is perfect for anyone looking to explore the beauty of the islands in comfort & style. Our vessel is one of only a few dual console, WorldCats in St. John. The unique design provides an open, spacious feel! The open bow designs allows our guests to lounge on the front and take in the stunning views. The rear is open while still allowing ample seating to enjoy an island beverage or snack.

Blue Water Charters was created with you in mind! It is our mission to provide a one-of-a-kind, unique boating experience to each and every guest. Our flexibility allows our captain to customize all trips to meet your desires. We can certainly provide suggestions on where to go for adventure, or if you are an island regular, you just tell us where to go. It's really all up to you!
Your Captain
​Sara grew up near Boise, Idaho, and on a family SCUBA diving trip to Cozumel, Mexico, fell in love with coral reefs. She studied marine biology at the University of Hawaii-Hilo and was awarded a Bachelor's degree in Marine Science and Biology. She then went to see "the other ocean" (Atlantic) and moved to the Florida Keys and worked as a marine ecologist for a few years. Then, she went back to school at Florida Atlantic University, where she earned a Master's Degree in Biological Sciences studying shark electroreception (ask her all about it!).

Wanting to spend more time in and under the water, she later moved back to the Florida Keys and worked at a SCUBA company as a captain and SCUBA instructor. She met her husband Lee while kiteboarding and they moved to St. John in Oct 2014. With 20 years of captain experience, Sara has found her home on St. John, where she is grateful to be a part of this wonderful, quirky island community. She loves traveling and in her spare time can be found taking underwater photography, kiteboarding or hiking. ​
