Frequently
Asked
Questions

What should I bring on the boat?

Definitely bring

  • Towel

  • Sunscreen (reef safe lotion)

  • Sunglasses

  • Passport (BVI trips)

  • $80 Cash per person (BVI trips)

Optional items

  • Snacks (chips, crackers, cookies)

  • Boat drinks (we provide water)

  • Snorkel gear (we have adult gear)

  • Cash (lunch, souvenirs, drinks, tip)

Please DON'T bring

  • Spray sun screen

  • A cooler, we have one for you to use

  • Meat, cheese, fruits, veggies (Customs will confiscate these items; BVI trips)

Where do I meet the boat?

Our pick-up location is at the finger pier in front of the National Park Service building (unless other arrangements have been made). The easiest way to get prepared is to drop off any bags and guests and then park. Once everyone is assembled at the picnic tables under the pavilion or next to the playground, please send your captain a text. We are only allowed to tie up to the dock long enough to board our guests; the dock is a public dock and is shared by everyone.

Is there parking at the National Park Dock?

No, but the closest parking lot is the Lumberyard Parking Lot, which is a short one-minute walk to the National Park finger pier. The Lumberyard does charge for parking.

Should I tip my captain?

Yes, your captain has a lot of responsibilities to ensure that you have a safe and fun day. Gratuity is customary in the Virgin Islands and 18-25% is the industry standard. Please plan to tip your captain directly (cash or Venmo).

Is gas included?

No, we have a fuel meter on board and will only charge you for the amount of gas that you use on your charter, based on the current St. John fuel rates.

There are only two of us, can you find others to join us?

This trip is your boat day, your way; we have no way to guarantee that any add-on people would want to do the same things that you'd like to do. It wouldn't be fun for anyone if a couple wanting to bar-hop got paired up with a couple that just wants to snorkel all day. You are welcome to bring any additional people that you'd like to invite, but we do not offer group tours.

What's included with this trip?

You will have a fully-licensed captain and safety equipment onboard. There will also be a large Yeti cooler with ice and drinking water, SiliPint cups, Bluetooth stereo system, adult snorkel equipment, pool noodles and ski jackets for floatation, freshwater rinse, and dry storage

What's NOT included with this trip?

BVI Customs fee ($80 cash per person if traveling to the British Virgin Islands), fuel, snacks or drinks (other than water), gratuity for your captain and bartenders/servers, children's snorkel equipment
